Physical constructions
Evaluate defined catheter constructions and compare modeled characteristics with measured results from physical designs.
CathCAD® brings composite mechanics, catheter construction, and observed physical behavior into a purpose-built design workflow.
CathCAD® uses a proprietary composite laminate model developed and owned by Roth Technologies. The model applies engineering mechanics to the construction of composite catheter tubing.
Its design inputs describe the assembled structure—materials, reinforcement, geometry, and construction—not a generic tube standing in for a catheter.

CathCAD® validation is tied directly to physical catheter designs and measured behavior. The development work has captured catheter processes and uses them to inform the model.

Layers may blend during processing rather than remaining independent. CathCAD® models this behavior in its composite representation.
Use the model to explore construction changes and guide engineering decisions alongside prototype testing.
In a manufactured composite tube, adjacent material layers can mix or blend. Treating every layer as an isolated, independent sheet may not reflect the finished construction.
CathCAD® accounts for this behavior as part of its catheter-focused composite modeling approach.
